Daily update is a type of update that repeats on a regular schedule, such as news reports or software updates. You can configure an Assistant Action to provide a daily update to users by adding the daily-updates intent. A daily update is delivered as a notification in the user’s Assistant app. When they tap the notification, the user invokes the intent you configured as a daily update and interacts with your Action. You can include a registration prompt for daily updates mid-conversation, or as a suggestion chip when the user exits your Action successfully.
Depending on your audience, it’s important to decide whether you want people to keep their checklist updated throughout the day or only when they close an issue. The latter creates a sense of finality and allows people to see a complete list of completed items in their daily update, so it may be more appropriate for work-related tasks or projects.
If you choose to let people register for daily updates as part of your Action, make sure you do so early in the conversation, and avoid re-prompting for it too often. This ensures that the user understands what they’re registering for and helps them make an informed choice about how they’d like to engage with your service.
